The latest mini-documentary uploaded to the Fiducie’s Youtube channel presents (in French only) key moments in the recent development of the Augustinian Sisters’ project, including the ceremony that officialised the transfer of their invaluable founding monastery to the Fiducie for the benefit of the entire population.

During a private visit in November 2012, Prime Minister Stephen Harper gave an update on the development of Le Monastère des Augustines. The federal government offered significant financial support for the rehabilitation of the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec monastery.

In January 2013, the Augustinian Sisters of l’Hôtel-Dieu de Québec signed the deed of transfer that made the Fiducie owners of the monastery on behalf of the population.

In February 2013, the Fiducie and the communities of Augustinian Sisters of Quebec gathered to publically celebrate the transfer of ownership.  A number of politicians, including Quebec Premier, Pauline Marois, witnessed this historic event and took advantage of the opportunity to reiterate their support for the project and their various financial contributions towards work to be done on the monastery.
