MILESTONE REACHED IN UPDATING THE COLLECTIONS

Protecting their heritage has always been a priority for the Augustinian Sisters. The project Le Monastère des Augustines fulfills their wishes to gather and safeguard the collections and archives of their 12 monastery-hospitals while making them accessible to the public on the site of their founding monastery.

Inventorying and updating the collections is an important step that ensures uniform treatment of all of the objects that make up the inventory. A museology team has been at work full-time since 2009.

A milestone was recently reached. The database of the Augustinian Sisters’ collection now contains 25 000 out of an estimated 40 000 objects.

Eventually, all of these artefacts will be housed in the museum reserve that is currently under construction.
