The Fiducie hails a new partnership agreement

Through its social mission, the Fiducie du patrimoine culturel des Augustines contributes to supporting and sustaining the commitment of family caregivers. The Fiducie is thus proud to announce that a funding agreement has been reached between L’Appui Capitale-Nationale pour les proches aidants d’aînés and the Monastère des Augustines. The agreement concerns a pilot project for family caregivers of seniors.

This funding agreement will provide a basis for developing a new initiative to supplement the services currently made available to family caregivers of seniors in the greater Québec City area. These caregivers also need respite in order to carry forward their commitment to help their aging family members continue to live at home.

Beginning September 1st 2015, family caregivers of seniors will be able enjoy respite accommodation at the Monastère des Augustines. This service will be developed in partnership with L’Appui Capitale-Nationale, community organizations providing direct services to such caregivers, and health sector.

Stays at the Monastère des Augustines for the purpose of respite and renewal are rooted in the Augustinian sisters’ values of hospitality and care, and are designed to enable family caregivers of seniors to take care of themselves in a peaceful, supportive environment. At the Monastère,family caregivers will be looked after, listened to, and recognized for their major contribution to caring for others in our society.
