Le Monastère des Augustines

Le Monastère des Augustines is a place of remembrance open to the public. This heritage site is located in the heart of Old Quebec, in the historic wings of the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec monastery. Witness to nearly four centuries of history, it is dedicated to wellness, culture, and the preservation of the Augustinian Sisters' heritage.

A place steeped in meaning

Le Monastère des Augustines opened to the public in 2015 after three years of renovations. It is the result of close collaboration between the teams of Le Monastère and the Fiducie du patrimoine culturel des Augustines. As the owner of the premises, the Fiducie is responsible for preserving the heritage site. Le Monastère, for its part, acts as the site manager and offers services in line with the mission of the Augustinian Sisters. Le Monastère celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025.

A rejuvenating experience

Le Monastère des Augustines offers a unique experience combining rejuvenation and immersion in the history of the Augustinian Sisters. It offers a variety of activities and services to promote the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of its visitors.

A commitment to sustainability and solidarity

Committed to a global vision of sustainability, Le Monastère aligns its actions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Its approach encompasses economic, ecological, and social aspects. True to the spirit of kindness that has inspired the work of the Augustinian Sisters for centuries, it cares for those who care for others, particularly by supporting caregivers and healthcare professionals.

The surplus generated by its activities is reinvested in this social mission, as well as in its cultural mission. The latter aims to preserve and transmit the rich tangible and intangible heritage bequeathed by the community.
